年間を通じて　マダケ竹林を観察していると　

嵐や寒波の度に　以外に倒れるタケが多いことに気づきます

この原因はまだ解らないけれど

竹材としても　十分伐竹可能な竹までも倒れてしまう点は　ちょっぴり辛い所でもあります

ところで　弊社管理竹林の中で　たった一か所だけですが

風吹けど雪降れども　年間を通じて　倒竹の少ない竹林があります

そして明らかに　その竹林だけで行っている作業が　近隣から出る　落ち葉の敷き込み作業なのです

落ち葉を敷き込み始めて9年になるその竹林の　竹の株元を見て　Rさんはふと気が付きました

（　根っこが出てる・・・　）

根が生え出している　すぐ上の節も　いつでも根っこが出てきそうに見えます

落ち葉の処理に困っていると聞き　それなら竹林へどうぞ　と軽く引き受けたことが

図らずも　根の生長を促し　倒竹の少ない竹林へと　育んでくれていたのでしょうか

Gaze at the roots

I have been working in the bamboo forest for a long time from time to time, I find bamboos that are toppled by storms or snow.
I feel a bit sad when I see it because some of the bamboos had good quality.
But there is only one forest where the bamboo tend to be strong and not falling down easily.
When I think back, what I have done something special for the forest is covering the soil with fallen leaves throughout the year.
I recently looked at the roots of the bamboos and noticed, the roots are growing from its joint...
Nine years ago, I heard that our neighbors were having troubles with a lot of fallen leaves on the ground.
Therefore I accepted all of them and now I think that they might have enhanced the growth of the bamboo roots.
